What is microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup technique. Pigment is placed into the upper layers of the skin with a manual handheld tool, creating fine, precise hair strokes that follow the natural direction of your brows and suit your face shape.
Does microblading hurt?
Most clients describe the treatment as manageable discomfort rather than pain. Topical anaesthetic can be used to help make the treatment more comfortable, and sensitivity varies from person to person.
How long does treatment take?
Allow up to two hours. This includes consultation, brow mapping, colour selection and the treatment itself, so there is time to agree the design before any pigment is applied.
How long does microblading last?
Results typically last around 12–18 months, depending on skin type, lifestyle, aftercare and how your brows respond to the pigment. Results gradually soften over time.
What products and pigments are used?
Hasti uses individually packaged, single-use materials for each client. PhiBrows pigments are developed to a high standard and selected to create natural-looking colour and soft, balanced results.
Who may not be suitable for microblading?
Microblading may not be suitable if you are under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, undergoing chemotherapy, have active skin conditions or infections in the treatment area, are prone to keloid scarring, have certain medical conditions, or are taking medication such as Accutane. If you have diabetes, psoriasis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, epilepsy, a pacemaker or significant heart problems, have had an organ transplant, or have a blood-borne infection, please discuss this before arranging treatment.
Do not attend with sunburnt skin or while unwell with a cold, flu, COVID or respiratory infection. Botox should be scheduled at least two weeks before or after the procedure. Hasti will discuss suitability and may advise you to obtain medical guidance where appropriate.
How often will I need a top-up?
The first top-up is required 4–8 weeks after the initial treatment. Further maintenance appointments help prolong the result and may be needed every six to twelve months, depending on your skin and lifestyle.
Is a patch test required?
Yes. A patch test is an important part of the process and will be arranged before your treatment.
What if I have previous brow tattooing?
Please send details or photographs before arranging treatment. Existing pigment can affect the shape, colour and suitability of a new treatment, so Hasti will assess it first.
